Installing the Digital Universe

Installing the Digital Universe is easy. If you have problems, please e-mail us or send e-mail to our discussion group.

Windows, Linux, IRIX Users

  1. Download the file for your particular operating system.
  2. Unzip the downloaded file.
  3. Optional: Move the resulting Digital Universe folder to any location in your file system. (The download is completely self-contained and does not rely on files outside the newly created folder.)

Macintosh Users (PPC only)

  1. Download the disk image installation package for Mac OS X.
  2. The file should unzip and appear as a mounted drive on your system.
  3. Simply copy the Digital Universe folder on your hard drive.
