Installation Overview

Steps to installing the Digital Universe

  1. Agree to the licenses

  2. Choose your operating system

    Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, IRIX.

  3. Choose the desired Digital Universe package

    • Digtial Universe Solo
    • Partiview Lover's
    • Digital Universe Uncut

    All three packages contain the atlas, while the Partiview Lover's package contains the Partiview User's Guide and accompanying data sets, and the Digital Universe Uncut bundles all the data products together in one convenient package.

  4. Package will download

  5. Unzip the package

    Your operating system may perform this step for you. (All files will be installed into a folder called Digital Universe.)

  6. Double-click the milkyway file

    The milkyway file will start Partiview and launch the Milky Way Atlas. See the Digital Universe Guide to get started.
